App Alert – What’s On My Food?

Iphone users check out an app called What’s On My Food? It is a great reference tool when shopping for produce.  It offers a comprehensive list of fruits and vegetables and compares the “pesticide residue” of conventional and organic produce so you can weigh your purchase options.

The data is supported by a USDA study (1999 to 2007) that tested 89 different foods for pesticides. Residues are categories among known or probable carcinogens, suspected hormone disruptors, neurotoxins, and developmental/reproductive toxicants.
